Marksburg Castle, near Koblenz on the Rhine river is a 13th century castle that is in original condition and well preserved. It has not been restored and is in original condition. It is one of the most beautiful castles on the Rhine and one of the first of many between Koblenz and Mainz -- near the road that is called the Romantic Road.
