Rothenburg is the most visited tourist city in Germany. It
was built just after 1000 AD and is in just about original
condition, including the intact city walls, towers, and
gates. It has narrow, cobblestone streets and churches and
monasteries dating back to 1100 AD. Rothernburg is set on a
hill and from the walls have a tremendous view of the
Tauber river valley below.
